The web site shopping cart requires that your browser allows session cookies in order to function correctly. The site does not store any personal information in the session cookie, only the items and quantities in your cart. Session cookies last only while you are active on the web site or until you close your browser.

If you are having problems adding items to your shopping cart it is likely that your browser is set up to refuse session cookies. Below are instructions with the correct cookie settings for the most popular browsers.

Internet Explorer 6.0       Back to top
1. Go to Tools on the browser’s main toolbar and select Internet Options… from the drop down list:


2. Select the Privacy tab on the Internet Options palette; click the Default button, then the Apply button and lastly the OK button to close the palette:



3. If you still cannot add items to your cart, open the Internet Options palette again, select the Privacy tab and click the Sites button.



4. Check the list of Managed Web sites, if emetco.co.uk is listed with a setting of Always Block, highlight it as shown below, click Remove and then click OK. Click OK on the Internet Options palette to close that as well.



5. If when you return to the site you see a message like this:



Tick the box for Apply my decision to all cookies from this Web site and then click Allow Cookie. If you click the More Info button you will see that the cookie is a harmless session cookie and will expire at the end of the session, which is either after about 20 minutes of inactivity or when you close the browser, whichever comes sooner.

1. Go to Tools on the browser’s main toolbar and select Options… from the drop down list:



2. In the Options palette click the Privacy icon in the left panel and expand the Cookies section in the main panel. Tick the boxes for Allow sites to set cookies and for the originating Web site only and then click OK to close the Options palette.



3. If you are still have problems adding items to the cart open the Options palette, click on the Privacy icon and expand the Cookies section again, then click the Exceptions button. If you can see www.emetco.co.uk listed with a status of Block, highlight the site as shown below, click Remove Site and then click OK to close the Exceptions palette. Click OK on the options palette to close that as well.



4. When you return to the site and click a link or try to add an item to the cart you may see a message like this:



So that you don’t see the message each time you click a link or add an item to your cart, tick the Use my choice for all cookies from this site option and then click the Allow for Sessions button. If you click the Show Details button you will see that the cookie is a harmless session cookie and will expire naturally at the end of the session, which is after about 20 minutes of inactivity or when you close the browser, whichever comes sooner.

The Corioliss shopping cart should now function correctly.


Mozilla 1.7.5 & Netscape 7.2       Back to top
Note: The screen shots below are of the default Mozilla interface, the Netscape browser looks slightly different, but the settings and options are identical.
1. Go to Edit on the browser’s main toolbar and select Preferences… from the drop down list:



2. In the preferences palette, expand the Privacy & Security setting in the left panel and select Cookies. Select the options Allow cookies for the originating web site only and Accept for current session only. Click OK to close the preferences palette.



3. If you still having problems adding items to your cart, click Edit and select Preferences. In the preferences palette, expand the Privacy & Security setting in the left panel and select Cookies again. In the Cookies settings click the Cookie Manager button.



4. Click on the Cookie Sites tab, if you see www.emetco.co.uk listed with a status of site cannot set cookie as shown below. Highlight the site, click the Remove Site button and click the Close button to close the Cookie Manager. Click OK on the Preferences Palette to close that as well.



5. When you return to the site and click a link or try to add an item to the cart you may see a message like this:

Opera 7.54

1. Go to Tools on the browser’s main toolbar and select Preferences... from the drop down list:


2. In the left hand panel of the Preferences palette select Privacy and tick the Enable cookies checkbox on the right hand side of the palette. For Normal cookies select Accept all cookies then click Apply and then OK to close the palette. The setting for Third party cookies will not affect the operation of the Corioliss web site.



3. If you are still having problems adding items to the cart, click Tools and select Preferences... in the browser’s main toolbar. In the Preferences palette, select Privacy again in the left hand panel, then click the Manage Cookies button.



4. Locate www.corioliss.com in the Server Manager window. You can then either click Delete to remove the entry or click Edit.



5. If you clicked Edit in step 4 you will see the following options:



Tick the box for Accept cookies for server/domain and then click OK to close the Server propertied palette. Click OK on the Server manager and then the Preferences palette to close them as well.

6. If you deleted the www.corioliss.com entry in step 4 you will likely see this message when you return to the site:



Select Accept, including updates before closing Opera and click the Accept button. The Corioliss shopping cart should now function correctly.


Third party security software       Back to top
If you have followed the instructions for your browser and are still experiencing problems please check the settings of any third party security software you have installed. If you are using an internet security suite, such as Zone Labs Zone Alarm Security Suite, Norton Internet Security Suite or similar, it is possible to set these to block session cookies required by the Corioliss web site shopping cart. Please refer to the product documentation or the vendor’s web site for the correct settings.
